ARIA Capital Management heads for Harbour
Amatica has signed a deal with Aria Capital Management for the provision of its HARBOUR Online Suitability Assessment solution. The deal involves implementation, the provision and support of HARBOUR as well as managed hosting services.
HARBOUR is Amatica’s response to the increasing concerns by regulators over risk profiling and suitability and the lack of good record keeping and investment advice offered to private investors. Many risk profilers on the market rely on simplistic tick-boxing or try to apply quasi-actuarial methods, Harbour uses factual information to form the basis of its assessment. Using its rigorous yet easily understood assessment process, HARBOUR thereon provides a seamless framework through which the process of advising and on-boarding an investment client can be undertaken with thoroughness, consistency and with clear demonstration of the advisor’s rationale. In addition, HARBOUR provides triggers that will prompt reviews ensuring that investment strategies are closely aligned with the client’s circumstances and needs.
ARIA, based in Richmond, Surrey, is a discretionary portfolio and fund manager, distributing their multi asset class funds primarily through FSA regulated advisors. ARIA's growth plans have been instrumental to the decision to use HARBOUR says Matt Brittain, senior partner at ARIA “We wanted a risk profiling solution and suitability assessment process that goes beyond the basic functions of a simple risk profiler. As absolute return investors, we want to provide as much by way of educational tools or materials we can to our intermediaries and clients, and believe Harbour provides an excellent delivery medium for that.”
We wanted a solution that considered suitability in a much broader sense, meaning that there was a wide ranging conversation with the client about the multi dimensional nature of risk, rather than just ascribing a quantitative score, which seems overly simplistic. We hope that this will provide a means by which we can further enhance the 'joined up' thinking between us and the adviser to the benefit of the client in meeting their financial objectives, so all aspects of our service and multi asset class investing, are covered comprehensively. By providing this tool, it should go a long way to strengthening the relationships with have with intermediaries, and provide them with strong audit chains in their suitability profiling too.”
HARBOUR will be delivered by Amatica in two phases. ARIA will receive the first phase in August and includes the secure Internet Portal, risk profiling and suitability assessments, inconsistency analysis and illustration, benchmark investment comparisons and automatic report generation. The second phase, scheduled for September, will deliver investor record management, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) data capture, electronic ID checks for anti-money laundering and online submissions.
ARIA Capital Management is the trading name of Absolute Return Investment Advisers (ARIA) Limited which is regulated by the FSA and has offices at 4 Duke Street, Richmond, Surrey.
